Cops Say Fiona Apple Admitted to Drug Possession; Released on $10,000 Bond

Tim Mosenfelder/Getty ImagesMore details have surfaced about Fiona Apple’s recent arrest on drug possession charges in Texas.  The Hudspeth County Sheriff's Office tells TMZ that authorities found hashish and marijuana during a "routine" search of the singer's tour bus on Wednesday night at a U.S. Border Patrol check point in Sierra Blanca.

Police say that border patrol agents boarded Apple's where their drug-sniffing dog led them to a blue backpack, which "contained a glass container with .01 pounds of weed and .01 pounds of hash."

If you're not familiar with drug weight, .01 pound of marijuana is about the size of a baseball, while .01 pounds of hash is around the size of a golf ball.  Authorities added that the singer "freely admitted" that the drugs were hers. Apple was then arrested and spent the night at the Hudspeth County Jail.  She was released on Thursday on $10,000 bond.
